How-To Run Windows XP files on Windows 7

Have you ever come across the weird issue where you try to run some files which were working flawlessly but since you upgraded your operating system have been a pain in the you-know-what?

As unusual as the problem may seem, this is very common and here are some tips to help you open Windows XP files using Windows 7.

First, you have to right click on the desired file that is not running on Windows 7 and go to properties. From the options menu, select “Compatibility” and under this option, check on the box that says “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” Then, select the Windows XP version you would like to run the program from a drop down list that could be easily accessed. Make sure you choose the right version!

After you have done this and click on “OK” you should be able to open that particular file.

And that’s all you need to do to get a file from your old system or computer to run like new with your updated system.
